Matt first heard the gospel while in college and benefited greatly from a faithful local church’s discipleship in his early walk with Christ. His own experience coupled with the need led him to jump at the chance to help lead CROSS when John Piper gathered a small group of leaders in Minneapolis in the summer of 2012 to pray and plan for a new missions-centered conference.

Prior to CROSS, Matt was the founding executive director of 9Marks and led the administrative team for the pastors conference known as T4G.

Matt and his wife, Eli, have five adult children and ten grandchildren. They live in Raleigh, North Carolina.
